Some changes to have better blogger blogs.

I have noticed 3 major drawbacks in blogger template designs which can give your new readers problems and irritate them while on your blogspot .These can be little twisted for a better blogging and blog reading experience.

ADDING/POSTING COMMENTS
At the moment the comment feature on blogger is a bit irritating and new blog readers don't even notice the 'post comment' link below posts and those who do avoid commenting as it takes the user away from the page he is on which is a little annoying where as wordpress has a comment form(box) below every post which makes the process much smoother and people easily notice it .Its just like an encouragement for users to comment .To fix these bloggers should embed a comment form below every post .I have also suggested the idea on google product ideas for improving blogger so that google starts this feature for all blogspots if enough people we may soon have the feature enabled automatically.

POSTS PER PAGE
This is another turn off for a person visiting your blog for the first time .He lands on your blog page and there are 3-4 monster posts lined in front of him making the page lengthy and add to the scroll .If not that then your visitor has to search for your archives which has say a 100 posts all crowded in your sidebar .The problem here is you want your user to easily spot your post titles without much ‘work’ .The best solution is to get a 'read more' or 'continue reading' link at the end of the post with which you can show a good number of posts on a single page with clear titles and a small part for the user to decide if that post interests him.

SIDEBARS
Blogger sidebars are mostly narrow which seriously need some adjustments as the narrow ones can't hold large rectangle adsense ad unit(its the one with high ctr)and it makes showing of your 'best’, ‘recent' posts and links difficult as the titles are lengthy and they don't fit in well .A 2 or 3 column blog template design with one of the sidebars a little broader would make putting ads, posts, links, labels, about me pic, feed subscription options a lot easier and keep the blog neat!

Over to you – Anything ever annoyed you at blogger or any other blog or service? Please comment and share with us!

Job Interview:The first question.

When preparing for an interview alot of things come to your mind such as will you get the job,are your qualifications good,is your resume proper and for some even the clothes they are wearing is a big issue. But something which every candidate frets about are the questions they are going to face in that room.

Generally interviewers tend to draw a lot from the first impression of the candidate which is more based on the appearance but this shouldn't be a big issue as jobs are meant for smart people and as said 'looks can be deceptive' but yes you should be presentable enough.

After this come the questions and one famous first question is "can you tell me about yourself ?".Many candidates lose their confidence here which affects the whole interviewing session. But given a thought the question is justified as the interviewer really doesn't know anything about you and it also helps him/her to evaluate the candidate's communication skills, confidence and articulation skills and the answer of course.People generally answer the question with information about their education, place of living, family background, interests etc. These parameters are already mentioned in the resume and so its not really a good answer. The candidate should tell the interviewer other things which are not mentioned in the resume such as career objectives and goals. The answer must include the candidate's strengths, leadership skills, willingness to learn etc.The answer has not to be elaborate and pompous. The person should give some details as to how he is fit for the post applied.A good answer puts the candidate in better position and confident for the rest of the interview.A good thing to do would be that the candidate rights down an ideal and practices is well before an interview. And remember you won't find the answer anywhere else as its only about YOU!

Recently I have also posted about new types of questions(puzzles) asked in the interviews. Here they are.
